The first edition of the Electronics For You Expo (EFY Expo) was held from 17th February till 19th February 2011 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It received an overwhelming response from the Indian electronics industry. With the support of 258 exhibitors representing over 750 brands, the event was able to attract 11,437 visitors during the three day period.
Right from the beginning, EFY Expo pursued two key strategies to differentiate itself from other expositions:
(i) to create a platform where innovators, design engineers and implementation engineers can mix with the usual crowd of manufacturers, traders and institutional buyers, in order to create one common platform for the entire electronics industry to come together.
(ii) to lay a strong emphasis on creating appealing content (conference, workshops, seminars, etc) to attract the right audience
Thus, the event was studded with a series of seminars and technical workshops. Other major attractions of the show included the Innovation Zone, where 15 innovators from India showcased their innovations; the Buyer-Seller Forum organized by ELCINA, where major institutional buyers sat down with exhibitors and transacted business.
Facilities like Digi-Key's Internet Cafe, Executive Lunch Zone, Free Wireless, Media Lounge, VIP Lounge, and Valet Parking service made the event an enjoyable experience for all.
The level of exhibitors' satisfaction has been proven by the fact that 70% of the 2011-show exhibitors have booked their space for the 2012 edition too.
