Cmdr. Manish Tiwari (Retd) was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 Jan 1989, in the Executive branch. He is an Anti-Submarine Warfare specialist and a qualified ship’s diver. After a decade in various afloat and staff appointments, including a stint as the Adjutant of Naval Academy, he joined the fledgling Information Warfare organization set up at IHQ MoD Navy, leading a team responsible for policy frameworks for Risk Management, Security Audits, Product Testing and setting up a Cyber Forensics Lab.

He was a part of the National Joint Working Group formed under the Dy NSA for creating a strategy for the protection of the National Critical Information Infrastructure. During this period, he also helped draft the proposal for creation of the Cyber Command.
